Lions clubs are recognized for their service to the blind and visually impaired. This service began when Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" during the 1925 Lions Clubs International Convention.

The Town of Texas Lions Club was chartered on March 10, 1959 with 21 members and presently has 29 members. Club meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month at the Montgomery Post 10 American Legion Club, 1001 Golf Club Road, Wausau, WI 54403
